The Opportunity:

We are looking for an Accounting Manager to join Turn/River and support our internal finance department.  This individual will be dependable and organized while possessing strong interpersonal and software skills. 

This role has two primary responsibilities:

  1. Management of all payroll and benefits
  2. Cash Flow Management

This is a collaborative role within Turn/River, where you will be interacting with employees from across all departments. We are looking for an individual who is analytical, methodical, and experienced in payroll administration.  


Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all payroll and benefits activities for the company
  • Process payments and confirm wire instructions
  • Work closely with accounting team members on monthly close of books
  • Review and compile information for budgets, forecasts and ad hoc reporting
  • Serve as the employee liaison for the accounting department to field all questions regarding payroll and benefits
  • Ensure payroll compliance with federal, state and local legal requirements
  • Prepare and manage Turn/River’s SF business tax filings
  • Research and implement new HRIS system to improve efficiency and employee engagement
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies
  • Liaise with auditors and manage payroll tax audits

 

Qualifications:

  •  At least 5 years’ experience working in the bookkeeping or accounting field
  • At least 3 years’ experience managing payroll activities for a company
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strives in a collaborative environment while able to work independently
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Experience keeping accrual books
  • Ability to assist employees with various tasks such as payroll inquiries and basic benefits questions
  • Ability to clearly explain accounting requirements to non-accounting-minded individuals
  • Strong project management and organizational skills

 


Nice to Have:

  • Excellent understanding of multi-location payroll and taxes
  • Experience with San Francisco business taxes
  • Experience with international accounting standards and practices

 

Location and Compensation

  • San Francisco, hybrid work model

 

Base salary range for this role is $140,000-160,000, taking into account numerous variable factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and organizational requirements.
